Emailing a flyer

How many people can I email my flyer to?

As a spam prevention measure, we allow business subscribers to email a flyer to up to 100 recipients at once; free users can send a Flyer to up to 10 recipients at once. The daily limits are 2000 and 50, respectively.

Who can I send my flyers to?

vFlyer’s email tool enables users to choose who they send their flyers to. This does not mean that you should send your flyers to just anyone. Rather, you should send flyers to people who have requested to receive emails from you; we suggest building an approved mailing list for this purpose. Abuse of vFlyer’s email tool (specifically, 10 recipients of your emails flagging them as spam in a single day) will result in your email privileges being revoked.

Can I automatically email my flyers to people in my address book?

Yes. Once you have published a flyer, click the Email & SMS link on the summary page (or on your Flyers page). Click the Import Contacts link above the text box. You can then pull contacts from email clients such as Outlook, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail.

If I send a flyer to multiple people, will each recipient see everyone else's email address?

No. Each recipient will see only his or her email address in the “To:” field.

Does vFlyer offer a way for recipients of flyer emails to unsubscribe?

Yes. At the bottom of every flyer emailed from our website is an Unsubscribe link. Clicking this link will allow recipients to unsubscribe from receiving future emails from the sender or from any vFlyer user.

Why do I need to enter my address to email a flyer?

In order to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, we require all users who have not entered their address in their Account Profile to enter it before they email a flyer or a flyer list.

When I send my flyer via email, why don't the photos appear?

Many email clients automatically hide images embedded in emails. Usually there is an option in the email to display the images.

When I email a flyer, why it doesn’t reach all the people I send it to?

Email delivery is a tricky issue. While we’ve done much to optimize the delivery of emails from our servers, the emails you send can be filtered out by the intended recipient’s ISP or email client, or can go into the recipient’s spam folder.

I created a premium layout flyer. When I email the flyer, why is it that I can only send the standard layout flyer?

For all flyers, in both standard and premium layout, we create a single email version. This is because most email services do not support Flash, which is the format of the photo slideshow in premium layout flyers.

Emailing multiple listings

How can I send multiple listings in a single email?

vFlyer business subscribers can send up to 7 listings in a single email. To access this feature, click the Account link, then the Email Flyer List link. From there, you can either choose a list that you’ve saved in your account or create a new list; your list can include both flyers and teasers. Once you have your list, enter the email addresses you want to send the listings to, choose a theme and layout for the email, and preview and send the email.

Text messaging a flyer (SMS)

How many SMS messages can I send from my account?

vFlyer business subscribers can send 25 SMS messages per month from their accounts.

What are my options for sending my listing via SMS?

You have three options when you send a text message from your account:

  1. Send summary information (text only) such as price and location
  2. Send a mobile link to the flyer (this displays a format of the listing optimized to the recipient’s particular mobile device)
  3. Send a mobile link to your Account Profile (which displays a list of all your active vFlyer listings)
